Menu bar
See what's running and run, stop or switch projects from the Hun menu bar icon.
Click the Hun icon in the menu bar to see every project, start or stop one, and open a running project in the browser. The icon switches on while any project is running.
The panel
The top of the panel says how many projects are running, for example 1 project running, or Nothing running. If a project crashed, it adds the count, as in 1 project running · 1 crashed.
Below that, projects are split in two lists:
- Running: projects that are starting, running or crashed. Each one shows its profile and how many services it runs, such as api · 3 services, or Starting… or Crashed.
- Projects: everything else. When the list is long, a Find a project field appears above it.
Click any row to open that project in the Hun window.
Run, stop and switch
Hover a row to see its action:
| Project | Button on hover |
|---|---|
| Stopped, in Focus mode | Switch to orbit: stops the other projects and runs this one |
| Stopped, in Multitask mode | Run orbit: runs it next to what's already running |
| Running or starting | Stop orbit |
| Crashed | Restart orbit stays visible; Stop orbit appears on hover and clears the crash |
While an action is in progress, the row shows a spinner in place of the button.
Port chips
A running project shows a chip with the port of its first running service that has one, such as :3000. Click it to open http://localhost:3000 in your browser.
Focus | Multitask
The switch at the top right sets the run mode for all of Hun:
- Focus: one project runs at a time. Switching stops the others.
- Multitask: run projects in parallel.
See Focus and Multitask for what each mode does to ports and running projects.
Open Hun
Open Hun at the bottom opens the main window. While Hun is the active app, ⌘D does the same. The power button next to it quits Hun.
If you have no projects yet, the panel says No projects yet. Add one from the window with Add project.
